The end...

Hi there!

If you visit this website long enough, you saw that I abandoned it without any information or updates from me or the game itself.
Basically, I don't feel that I have the same motivation doing research and updating everyone in my blog, either with news or with new notes.

Patch 1.5.10 War-Torn Christmas!

Hey Townies!

With Patch 1.5.10 we are releasing the next part of the Witch story for Christmas, and are releasing new Christmas cosmetics! We also improved the perks of buying the Steam version of the game!

Steam!:

Steam now gives you 100% increased Merit Points earned. This will work even if you are playing on the browser or mobile clients as long as your account is linked to Steam.
Steam now gives 2000 Town Points up from 1300.

Improvements:

The Ranked timer was brought back down to 3 minutes at the max time.

We made some tweaks to how Elo was calculated in terms of your opponents average Elo. This change will make it so that If you are a lower Elo then your opponents and win a game you should win more Elo than before. This will only really be noticeable if you have a fairly large difference in Elo from the other players, and if you are a solo member(NKs, NE, NB roles) *we are aware there is a bug with this*

Removed the ability for the Transporter to select a player as both targets for their transport. This means the Transporter has to actually swap two players to prove his existence.

This patch is a bit light, but that is because we are putting a ton of focus on patch 1.6.0.

Patch 1.5.9 The Royal Court

Hey Townies!

Patch 1.5.9 is here and a lot of changes have come with this patch, and we have a lot of changes are still planned for the future. In this patch we made some balance changes, and reworked the Disguiser as a role! Gone are the days of getting screwed by someone writing their name in their will. We have also limited the amount of trials players can have a day, and have added Turkish queues to the game. Check out more information on all of this and more below!

Bug Fixes:

(Mobile)
Fixed a bug where players who were being seanced were not able to talk to the Medium that night.
Put in a notification to let players know if they don't have enough space.
Fixed an issue that was causing the friends list to not sort alphabetically some times.
Added a loading message to images that haven't loaded in the shop or customization yet.
Fixed a bug that would cause your messages with a friend to be erased from the message box if you joined a lobby sometimes.
Fixed several issues that were causing crashes for both Android and iOS.

(Non-Mobile)
Fixed a problem with the Demon death sound file.
Fixed a bug that was causing players to sometimes not be invitable if they left the end game screen before you did.
Fixed several characters who had names that were out of place.
Fixed a few spelling/grammar errors in messages from the game.


Game Changes:
Turkish queues! These Turkish queues will allow anyone who wishes to play the game in Turkish to do so. Now while this isn't a full translation of the game, it will be our first push into localizing the game to other languages.
Merit Points added! Merit points are the new free currency you will get from playing games,and earning achievements. Town Points are now a premium currency. Don't worry though! All the Town Points everyone currently have will stay as Town Points.
Disguiser Rework! The Disguiser can now "disguise" as a player's role every night, appearing to be that role to the invest, or in the role list if killed. That change adds a new layer of deception as players can't just look at the role list to see if your role is possible all the time anymore. This can get "proven" roles killed potentially, or just throw confusion as to what roles are even possible around in the game.
Witch Buff! The Witch will know role the role of the players that they control. This should help the Witch to control the right players into doing the right actions rather than controlling that Medium to visit the Jester 4 nights in a row.
Trials Have been limits to 3 per day! This change will help to address the problem know to the community as VFR, or Vote For Roles. This strategy is abusive in the way that players are all voted up to claim a role, and if they don't they are hanged. This doesn't flow with the spirit of the game, and we are doing something to limit it some.

For those of you who knew what change WAS being made to the transporter we have decided NOT to move forward with it.

Some of you may have seen by now, but we are in the early design stages of a new system that will allow players to taunt other players. Be sure to check out the main thread for that, and keep the conversation going in the chat!

Taunt/Emote System

Hey Townies!

With patch 1.5.9 on the verge of going live (just squashing the last few bugs) I want to talk about a new system we are designing for patch 1.6.0+. This system is still at the design level so this is your chance to provide feedback!

Taunt/Emote System
The taunt/emote system will allow players to anonymously interact with each other in-game by creating visual objects in the town.

Examples
-Player 1 taunts Player 7 by dropping a tombstone that says "RIP" at his feet. Player 7 does not know who taunted him.

-Player 2 taunts Player 10 at night by summoning an eerie figure who starts digging a grave in front of Player 10's house.

-Player 5 taunts Player 11 by summoning a dog that walks up and pees on your character/dead body/house.

Important Notes:
*The taunt/emote system can be used at night (as well as day)
*The taunt/emote system can be used to trick players into performing actions they may not normally do (if you use a scary taunt at night that player may use a self heal, their last bullet proof vest or go on alert!)
EDIT: People seem to be confused about this part. It DOES NOT "force" a player to use a night ability. It is simply a mind game tactic. Maybe taunting them makes them think they will be attacked and thus they use a night ability in a way they may not have otherwise.
*There will be a global cooldown on taunts/emotes against the same player to prevent multiple players from spamming the same person
*There will be a cooldown on each players ability to taunt/emote to prevent spam

Patch 1.5.9 Planned Changes

Greetings Townies!

We are excited to announce a few of our planned role balance changes coming with the 1.5.9 patch (as well as Turkish queues!) Note: all of this is subject to change as we go through PTR testing and balancing.

Disguiser (rework)
Probably the biggest and most important role balance change will be the Disguiser. The Disguiser role has had many problems ranging from last wills nullifying the roles usefulness to players using other names to break rules and make reporting more difficult and confusing. Thus we are completely reworking the role while keeping the theme of what the Disguiser is all about!

* The Disguiser will no longer take other players names, characters and positions
* The Disguiser can choose one player each night to Disguise as. If an Investigator checks the Disguiser that night the Investigator will see the results of the role the Disguiser selected.
* The Sheriff will still see the Disguiser as Mafia.
Example: Disguiser chooses to disguise as the player 1 who is the Sheriff. The Investigator will then see the investigative results of a Sheriff when checking the Disguiser that night.
* If the Disguiser is killed the night they disguise or lynched the following day, the role shown to the town (and on the graveyard list) will be the role of the player the Disguiser disguised as the previous night.
This is a pretty big meta change since the Disguiser will now have the ability to cast doubt on the graveyard list. It creates a new way for evil roles to deceive the town and adds a whole new layer of deception to the game!

Expect to see these changes hitting the PTR very soon and going live in the next few weeks!

Witch (buff)
The Witch will now see the role of the player they are controlling. This gives the Witch a lot more information to use their mind control powers more effectively as well as more role information to team up with evil roles or to trick the Town!

Transporter (change)
When a Transporter swaps two targets it will display who was swapped to everyone in the town. This change is to help remove some of the extreme chaos the transporter creates without changing the way the role works.

Limiting Trials Per Day to 3
Some players have been using multiple trials per day to extend day time phases longer than intended. This change will also prevent Mayors from being able to infinitely prolong games.

Patch 1.5.8 A Devastating Clash


1.5.8 brings with it the next part of the Witch story line and is viewable on the login page of the game! This patch also brings new cosmetics, many mobile fixes, and even a small change to the Executioner.


The Witch's latest attempt to destroy the town has brought a few new members into the fray! Check out the newest cosmetics below.

Improvements:
Fixed an issue that was causing some players to have issues keeping a stable connection at times due to using an IPv6 connection. This should make a lot of players connections more stable.

(Mobile)
Improved how mobile handles Facebook login and should work great now!
Improved memory usage.



Bug Fixes:

(Mobile)
We fixed a bug that was allowing mobile users to whisper when they were blackmailed.
Fixed a display issue when mobile users declined invites to parties.
Fixed an issue where several roles with limited use abilities were still able to select targets at night with no uses left.
Fixed a bug where if you left a game before last will and death notes were displayed for the game they would display on the homepage.
Dead chat was being blocked at times when it shouldn't be but won't be anymore.
Lots of crash fixes for Android and iOS.

Mobile users can now lock their screens/hit the home button, and have 15 seconds to get back into the game before it disconnects them rather than instantly disconnecting them!



Game Changes:
The Executioner can no longer have the Jailor as a target.
The Executioner can once again have the Spy as a target due to the recent change to the Blackmailer.


Extra!:
We know that players have had issues getting into games where a lot of users are speaking only Turkish. We are happy to announce that we are working on a system to allow Turkish players to join matches that are meant for Turkish users. This will let Turkish players play with other Turkish players without disrupting English speakers games. Currently speaking any language other than English while playing is considered cheating and can get you suspended, but once we have this language selection system set up those players in Turkish games will be able to speak Turkish without having to face punishment. Why Turkish? Why not Spanish, German, or any other languages?

Well in the recent months Turkish YouTubers, Streamers, and other outlets seemed to have covered our game! While this is great news for expanding the user base, and helping to grow our company name, some of the players seem to only speak Turkish. In a game where communication is key not being able to communicate with your teammates is a huge problem. This influx of users is so large that Turkey has become the country with the 2nd most users of the game. Due to this massive influx of players we decided that we needed to have an option for those players who only speak Turkish. This system is the first step towards the ability to really expand by localizing the game to other languages and we will see how it turns out!
